San Francisco Giants won their third World Series in five years, Joey Madden man jumped ship on the Rays climbs aboard with the Cubbies, and we’re gonna round out the MLB here with us some free agents in the possible teams that they could be looking go to. All that tiny bit more on the Tampa Bay Sports Second SHTONK.

Hey what’s going on there this is the inaugural edition of the Tamp Bay Sports Second I’m your host your only host Roy here that noise if you hear is me pissing uncontrollably in not the sprinklers in the front yard. Let’s kick this off by congratulating the San Francisco Giants on their third world series in five years. I have close ties to that ball club – Brian Sabean, the general manager, is my uncle, and another writer on this blog on Ryan Sabean, we’d like to congratulate him we’re proud of him for doing that. Doing his thang out in San Francisco… now if only the Rays could get something like that going it’d be nice. Brian actually started out down here he went to school at Eckerd College then he coached I believe it was assistant coached then head coach 83-84 for the University of Tampa and then here went to the Yankees he scouted there for for long while. Scouted people like Jorge Pasada and fucking Derek Jeter, those people that caused everyone in the American League East a lot of pain and how over the past decade if not more so again congratulations to Brian into the whole team there up San Francisco Giants. It’s well-deserved.

Now onto more Tampa Bay specific news, the Rays manager there Joey Madden – he took off. I wasn’t expecting that, but what the hell do I know. He didn’t take too long to join up there with the Chicago Cubs. Maybe he can turn something around there. Eh I wish him luck, I guess. I feel like the way management was doing things with the Rays the way they were leading players mid-season there, he saw the way it was going. He didn’t like what he saw so he figured he’d call it a day on the Rays. The only prospect I’ve seen of a manager coming in for the Rays is actually something that’s been there for about seven years he spent seven years as the bench coach that’s Dave Martinez. Like I said, he spent seven years alongside Madden so he knows what works
he knows the chemistry knows what goes on in the clubhouse… I think that be easiest the easiest, the best route for the Rays to go with Matt leaving and then the vice president going out to try to keep that continuity to keep someone that knows the players that knows what’s going on. That’d be the best thing for the team to do with this point. He’s been interviewed by a number teams in the off season… no bites yet but I’m kinda hoping they hold on to him I think that might be good for the team. But it’s early yet so we shall see.

Now for the prospects free agents we got the MLB we got James Shields – old Jamesy there – he’s leavin now, probably gonna leave Kansas City you know they get the Red Sox looking after him. Jon Lester Mac Shares are both looking at the Cubs most likely. Maddens going to be happy about that get a nice pitching staff behind him over there. Then you got Pablo Sandoval who was just with the world champion successful Giants his contract he’s asking for a little too much more than the Giants wanna pay. I’d like to see stick with them but the Red Sox are looking at him too. So it doesn’t look like the Rays a too many high-profile people looking at them but hopefully they can get someone, because if the Sox put on who they look in a it’s gonna be a tough division for the Rays to do much but they always seem to be up there or at least have a chance – a ray of hope always in each season so we can always pull for them.

Now on to the Lightning, who sit tied with the second-best record in the National league their top the Atlantic Division there – tied with Montreal with Boston settled there with 16 points Tampa Bay Montreal to 17. They got a good team, good topline, great second line date they just got a lot of great bench players that come off and do what needs to be done so that’s that’s one team in Tampa whose really been putting on a show the past couple seasons here. Want to keep an eye out. Just a shame that no one really pays attention hockey, but Tampa does. Surprisingly in the hot
weather, for some reason it’s one team that you can always look for a packed house one of the only ones. tickets are affordable as well, that always helps.

Now on to one of Tampa’s biggest disappointments – the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They started out the season looking like they were gonna have a chance… you know they put some pieces into play – got a decent coach defense minded that obviously didn’t work out for their fucking blowout losses, but we face one of those teams this week at home: the Atlanta Falcons. Won’t seem to help cuz it didn’t seem to do that when they played the Browns who, despite their record, I don’t think they are as good as that shows. Lone bright spot on the roster there you got Mike Evans putting up good numbers despite poor quarterback play. Speaking up quarterbacks, from the mouths of babes it seems that Mike Glennin himself said that he most likely will not be starting and that Josh McCown will be at the helm there Sunday against Atlanta at home. Glennin hasn’t been playing too well but obviously they want to get a look at Josh they gave him a two-year contract at the beginning season so they wanna get a look at what he can do when he’s healthy. I mean fuck it – either way, neither one of them look that great. As for Doug Martin in the backfield there – he hasn’t played too much this season, and when he has he hasn’t looked good so I don’t know he’s gonna be doing, if he’s even going to be playing.  Could be him, Rainy… I’d probably go with Rainy at this point the way the offensive line it blocking. But we shall see.

Despite of all that, as always I’ll be doing a Fantasy Stack of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on FanDuel, playing one of their tournaments over there. Hopefully this is the week I can win some money with them. Won some money in the past but not with the Tampa Bay stack, but I continue to do it because I’m a fucking fool.

Let me close up by saying Orlando Magic – I realize it’s not Tampa Bay, but it’s all we got – they’re 0-3 right now going up against the Bulls… it’s the fourth quarter, they’re down. So we’ll see how that ends up. You’ll know before I tell you.

I think that’s gonna do it over here at the Tampa Bay Sports Second. This was Roy. Hope you somewhat enjoyed it. I’ll be back. Keep an eye out for that next short podcast where I’m going to tell you who you should be stacking for your tournaments this week in your daily Fantasy Tournaments with the Bucs. Hey guys, thanks for listening. Take it easy.

Nice job Roy, especially on the cherry pie and your theme song…its real catchy. I appreciate all of your analysis on MLB and NFL, even if the Bucks are wurtless. However, I have to admit that I am a bit dismayed, especially coming from a New England boy, about you skipping over the jewel of Tampa Bay sports; our Tampa Bay Lightning, who seem to be putting the pieces together for a promising season. All this despite the exodus of a few iconic players last season. I guess it goes to show that Yzerman is in control. Anyway, I like your show, but would like to request additional focus on some good old Southern Hockey.

Hey Jason, apologies for not showcasing the only Tampa Bay team that gives hope to the areas sports fans year in and year out. I’m planning something for them in the upcoming weeks. Hopefully you’ll stick around to hear about it. As for the NFL, at this point it is tough to actually root for those “wurtless” Bucs, but how’re you feeling about them Vikings? You think they got a chance in that up for grabs NFC North?
